I love the Trauma Teddies.. I'm pretty hopeless at knitting but I'd love to try it if you could send me the pattern? It's a great idea!
Sorry it took so long to reply, I was trying to find a pattern on the net that I could link to but for some reason it is impossible to find.
Making a trauma teddy is really easy cause the only stitch you need is garter stitch (which is the easiest one).
My informal pattern is:
Cast on 12 stitches and garter stitch for 33 rows then change colour to the shorts colour and continue for 8 rows. Repeat this for the other leg then stitch across both legs to join them and work for another14 rows.
Change colour to the shirt colour and work for 18 rows. then increase your work by 12 stitches on each end and work for 16 rows. Cast off 12 stitches then work the middle 24 using the head colour and then cast off the last 12 stitches work for 32 rows and then cast off.
This gives you one side of the bear. Repeat this, sew the 2 sides together (except the top of the head), stuff and sew in the ears and the neck and you're done!
(I should note that Im not quite sure if I have the right amount of rows for each one... as a general rule you should finish each colour with the wool on the same side as the hanging bit where you cast on... if that makes sense) ENJOY!
